March 2026: Steam page + new trailer + free playtest, and lots and lots of stats.

March 2026 was hands down the busiest month since Deathwish Bloom inception:
Steam page:
I prepared a dozen of hand-drawn Key Art variations for the Steam page and Steam library, came up with the store description, learned the difference between 'builds' and 'depots', the parent app and the playtest, and - for the first time ever - played my own game via Steam Library.
The page went live on the 10th of March 2026.
Trailer: Our Announcement trailer is officially out - just in time for the Steam page launch. Do I wish it had more art and gameplay shown? Yes.
Am I super proud of what I (hand-drawn Procreate art + Procreate Dreams animation) and Kacper Lewandowski (commissioned music) have achieved? Absolutely! Special mention: our fonts expert Arina Orlova, who handheld me through the font choosing process well into the night. I ended up drawing a custom Deathwish Bloom scribbly font, and will eventually be turning it into a proper in-game font.
itch.io: Itch.io is a mixed bag. For one, it is free and publishing a game on it is very easy. And yet, it never gave Deathwish Bloom any visibility. You can only find my game if you type the exact name and press 'Enter'. Browsing via Tags doesn't show the game at all. I contacted Support and they said the game indexed, but there was no reply on why it cannot be discovered while browsing. Which is, of course, very sad, except we did pretty well on Steam, by being included into... #GamesFromIreland Steam Event: An outstanding IMIRT initiative, an amazing way to spread the word about fabulous games coming from the Emerald Isle! Deathwish Bloom was honoured to join the line-up, and gather our first few hundreds of wishlists and playtesters. The Event week was wild, with news, streams and posts abounding. For a moment, I entered my Social Media Manager era; and realised that if I want the game to keep the momentum - I must always stay in that era.
Playtest:
Deathwish Bloom Steam Playtest in on since March 23rd, and I am very grateful to those who reported wee bugs (now fixed). Shoutout to Dean and Chris who were very thorough with the report - you could have chosen to do a vast array of things, but you chose to help make the game better and I truly appreciate it.
This has been an unusually long DevLog, and I now need a glass of wine. See you in April - there will be new art and lots of other bits! If you haven't playtested yet and would like to, you can do so here:
Our trailer lives here:
