Hey, you. Keep coming back here, hmm? šŸ˜

Good! Because we’ve got a dash of news and a couple of pretty pictures to show for June šŸ¤²šŸ»ā˜ŗļø

Ā

Firstly, we’ve unlocked the ā€˜Got Organised’ achievement.

Our game development schedule 2025 is now relatively crystalized.

Ā

Secondly, we figured out the complex character relationship system for the 5 main characters and - just because we were on the roll - a simpler system for the 3 less prominent ones.

We got Excel spreadsheets.

We got graphs.

We got numbers.

Ā

We’ve got a good base to start off. A good base that we’ll change and adapt as we test the Demo and gain feedback later this year

Ā

Thirdly, our background stats are up by 2, totalling 8 out of 22 back grounds ready:

Ā

Kyro’s got his first – and last – bartending gig at Tetra seashore. Right next to a mysterious door that has been welded shut for as long as one can remember but was allegedly open on the night of his gig. Ā

Ā

Great views for a summer party, as long as you stay on the deck

Sky’s bathroom is done – not just to show what our main character looks like in her reflection, but to learn about her through personal items. Every object in our characters’ homes has a story if you are into ā€˜exploration mode’ kind of playing.

Ā

Every 1000-brushstroke artwork starts with one brushstroke. Everything looks wrong until it doesn't.

Music-wise, we got AnaĆÆs’s draft for an emotionally heavy game’s equivalent of the Day of the Disappeared. The vibe is so sad and resigned and hopeful at the same time, we almost cried while listening to it in the car. (Except we didn’t because, you know, eyes on the road.) This doesn’t rise our music stats just yet but gives us a really good soundtrack to look forward to. Ā

Ā

Lastly, we are exploring a new way of writing. We already had a good part of the Demo branching figured out in Twine, but Twine’s interface never felt quite right. We are currently exploring Inklewriter to see if it works better in terms of giving us the bird’s eye view of the story and tracking choices and variables. It’s early days, but it’s both fascinating and scary, so we are rolling with it with eyes closed.

Ā

The trailer remains on pause until TBC.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā

That’s it for a quick update, as we can’t wait to get back to playing with Inklewriter: growing more story branches and go mad on testing them – again, again and again! Ā Ā Ā Ā

Ā

Our main goal for July is to program all characters’ expressions in Ren’Py and write the full script for one Demo path. This way we’ll be ready to start on a build we can actually play in August/September, hurray! Throwing in new background and just one more character artwork would be a bonus. July is all typing and not so much drawing.

Ā

Please enjoy your summer and see you at our next update in <= August! šŸŒøā˜€ļøšŸ¦¢Ā Ā
